I am a oculoplastic specialist with a academic bent.
I have successfully obtained ACGME-accreditation for new Ophthalmology Residency training programs at two different institutions and advised on a third. I have been in private practice and have taught on the medical school and resident level as well as coached fellows and practicing physicians preparing for their ophthalmology boards. I have since become an examiner.
Fellowship-trained at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, my clinical practice has focused on facial skin, eyelid & orbital cancers and reconstruction. General Surgery and Ophthalmology training in Level I trauma centers in Washington, D.C. and Brooklyn, New York contributes to my comprehensive eye injury care.
I am Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and participate in the Maintenance of Certification program.
Named by my peers as a PHOENIX Magazine TOP DOC, I strive to create a co-operative and personalized approach to patients needs.
The author and co-author of book chapters and numerous articles in scientific journals, I have also presented in local, national, and international forums as well as online live and on demand.
